Proximity Triathlon

We have set a goal for Toby to compete in the Proximity Canberra Triathlon Festival on 9 February 2019.

The aim is to raise enough funds to buy Toby a customised wheelchair to compete in the running section of the triathlon.

The Proximity Canberra Triathlon Festival offers a distance that is achievable for everyone. It can be completed as an individual or in teams of three (where each member of the team just does one leg). There is also a DRYathlon for those who would prefer to replace the swim with a run. It is Canberra’s only triathlon with a corporate and community element which provides great networking and team building opportunities.

The event is all about participation and for many people it will be their first attempt at a triathlon. The distances are a 200m swim (yes, you can even wear flippers to make it easier), a 10km bike ride and a 2km run. For the DRYathlon, the swim is replaced with an additional run leg – the distances are a 1km run, 10km bike ride and 2km run.
